We bought a 5 bed period cottage in July 2018, a very long held dream of ours so to say we wanted it to be perfect (and that I was a slightly demanding client) is an understatement and JH Designs delivered, we absolutely love it.

Helen went above and beyond, we had 3 months to completely update and furnish the cottage, all remotely from the US.

We only met once prior to work commencing and not again until I visited to see the results!

Helen dealt with our builders, juggled contractors and all the while consulted with me on design via WhatsApp and Pinterest etc.

Nearly everything was replaced including the windows and doors but we tried to select styles that were sympathetic to the age of the cottage.

HOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT :: here’s a quick glimpse of a bedroom and en-suite at our full house renovation project in the Cotswolds!

The stone mullion windows have been restored by our treasured builder and look fantastic. The plaster work has a rough finish and is rounded around windows to make it look old.

We’re really enjoying working closely with our clients who have had lots of great ideas for the renovation project!

The carpenter has been busy installing panelling in the dining room, there’s been lots of discussion on site about the live timber edge for the window sills which will add a beautiful rustic texture to the space.

We know first hand how stressful it is to coordinate architects, planners, surveyors, builders, plumbers, electricians, decorators, carpenters, curtain makers, carpet fitters - we have built good relationships with local trades in the Cotswolds so that we can manage a project on your behalf.

COTSWOLD HIDEAWAY :: our brief was to completely refurbish a tired Cotswold country cottage into a comfortable luxury holiday home for 6 people.

Our clients wanted to keep as many of the original features and add those that had been stripped out by previous owners.

The cottage needed complete redesign of bathrooms and a new kitchen layout.

We undertook the full interior design of the cottage alongside our trusted builder to present a fully equipped letting cottage down to the last teaspoon!

We bought a 5 bed period cottage in July 2018, a very long held dream of ours so to say we wanted it to be perfect (and that I was a slightly demanding client) is an understatement and JH Designs delivered, we absolutely love it.

We only met once prior to work commencing and not again until I visited to see the results!

HIDDEN FEATURES :: when we refurbished this tired Cotswold country cottage into a comfortable luxury holiday home the builder discovered original victorian bead & butt boarding in the living room.

Nearly everything was replaced including the windows and doors but we tried to select styles that were sympathetic to the age of the cottage.

HOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT :: here’s a quick glimpse of a bedroom and en-suite at our full house renovation project in the Cotswolds!

The stone mullion windows have been restored by our treasured builder and look fantastic. The plaster work has a rough finish and is rounded around windows to make it look old.

We’re really enjoying working closely with our clients who have had lots of great ideas for the renovation project!

The carpenter has been busy installing panelling in the dining room, there’s been lots of discussion on site about the live timber edge for the window sills which will add a beautiful rustic texture to the space.

We know first hand how stressful it is to coordinate architects, planners, surveyors, builders, plumbers, electricians, decorators, carpenters, curtain makers, carpet fitters - we have built good relationships with local trades in the Cotswolds so that we can manage a project on your behalf.

COTSWOLD HIDEAWAY :: our brief was to completely refurbish a tired Cotswold country cottage into a comfortable luxury holiday home for 6 people.

Our clients wanted to keep as many of the original features and add those that had been stripped out by previous owners.

The cottage needed complete redesign of bathrooms and a new kitchen layout.

We undertook the full interior design of the cottage alongside our trusted builder to present a fully equipped letting cottage down to the last teaspoon!
